The step-by-step admission process requires:
1. Eligibility: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreigner's passport, aged 18 or above, and be in good physical and mental health. (Applicants who have immigrated must provide absolute documentation proving the cancellation of their Chinese nationality).
2. Academic Excellence: Undergraduates typically need strong high school credentials. Successful applicants must submit official senior high school transcripts or transcripts of academic achievement up to the present.
3. Language Competence: For English-taught programs, an IELTS score of 6.0, a TOEFL iBT score of 80–85, or a Duolingo score of 105 is mandatory (native speakers are exempt). For Chinese-taught undergraduate programs, applicants must reach at least an HSK Level 4 with a score of 180+. For postgraduate Chinese-taught programs, a stricter HSK Level 5 with a score of 210+ is usually required.
4. Documentation & Interviews: Applications require an online application, authenticated highest diplomas, academic transcripts, a personal statement (study plan), language certificates, recommendation letters, a physical examination record, a financial guarantee letter, and a non-criminal record report.
5. Application Timeline: The regular decision deadline for undergraduate applications is typically around May 15. The application fee is 400 RMB for undergraduates and 600 RMB for graduate programs.
