Navigating Admissions: The International Student Pathway

The gateway for international students to enter BIT is highly structured. The university utilizes a comprehensive evaluation process that places heavy emphasis on foundational STEM knowledge.

The step-by-step admission process requires:

1. Eligibility: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid passport, aged 18 to 25 for undergraduate programs, and be in good physical and mental health.

 2. Academic Excellence: Undergraduates typically need excellent high school credentials with a strong emphasis on mathematics and sciences.

 3. Language Competence: English-taught programs strictly mandate an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, a TOEFL iBT score of 85 or higher, or an equivalent recognized certificate. Programs taught in Mandarin strictly require HSK Level 5 (180+).

 4. CSCA / Entrance Examination: For undergraduate applicants aiming to enroll in STEM programs, passing the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) or the university's internal placement tests is often a mandatory requirement. This standardized entrance exam evaluates foundational academic readiness specifically in Mathematics and Physics.
 5. Documentation & Interviews: Applications require an application form, authenticated transcripts, a personal statement/study plan, language certificates, a physical examination record, and a financial guarantee letter. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for a comprehensive virtual interview.
